Due to the increased number of COVID-19 cases and new guidelines from the CDC, Judge Ellen Masters, Chief Judge of the 10th Judicial Circuit, issued Administrative Order 1-60.1 on August 2, 2021. The order updates health and safety guidelines in the Polk County Courthouse:
- Masks must be worn when entering and exiting the building and in all public spaces within the courthouse.
- Masks are required for in-person court proceedings, including jury.
- Social distancing is not required but strongly encouraged.
- Remote proceedings are not required but are strongly encouraged, whenever possible.
